I'm also new at this and hated the backfiring. My boyfriend took out the white spacer and made the exhause modifications as found on the forum and what a difference it made. Still pops a little when downshifting but nothing compared to what it used to do. If was easier than I thought to fix. Boy it sure is nice having a boyfriend that can work on my bike!
